Technical Support

In general, I can help with most technology issues. I will list examples here of things I can help with, but chances are even if your issue is not on my list yet, I can assist. (And if it is computer related, I may be able to assist remotely!)

  • I am intimately familiar with all versions of Microsoft Windows and all products of the Microsoft Office Suite. So, if you need help adding trendlines to an Excel chart, filtering data for a report in Access, getting that mail merge to work in Word, timing the transitions in a PowerPoint slideshow, or setting up your e-mail accounts in Outlook, I can help.
  • Handheld gagdets I have configured, worked with, and in some cases repaired, include: iPods, Kindles, gameboys, universal remote controls, smartphones, MP3 players, Bluetooth headsets, cordless phones, digital cameras and camcorders, wireless headphones, and (although it is low-tech) I can solve a Rubik's cube.
  • Devices, electronics, and appliances I have upgraded or repaired: Wii consoles, TiVo's, printers, dishwasher, oven, Nintendo DS, DVD players, and external hard drive enclosures.
  • I can perform data analysis. I can write custom code in VB, VBA, or .NET. I can research a technology or device and make recommendations in a report with references to support my findings. I can connect a surround sound system to a cable box, DVD/Blu-Ray player, DVR, television, and outside speakers. I can pair your Bluetooth phone with your car or GPS unit.
